The octave International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on Saturday February 11th
The day was established in December 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize the vital role that women and girls play in science and technology.

As part of the initiatives that will be organized in many countries of the world, Città della Scienza - University of Catania, INAF - Astrophysical Observatory of Catania, CSFNSM - Sicilian Center for Nuclear Physics and Structure of Matter, Department of Physics and Astronomy "Ettore Majorana" Catania and Infn - Section of Catania, organize the event "Science and Technology in Catania: the role of women"

The event will take place at Città della Scienza (Via Scuto Costarelli, 65 - Catania) from 10:00 to 12:00.

The program includes some presentations by female researchers from Catania and a round table on the problems and perspectives of women in research.
