The principal purpose of the CSFNSM is the development of scientific research in Nuclear Physics, Physics of Matter and Applied Physics, also for training of specialized technicians and for Medical, Civil and Industrial applications.

The skills developed in these research areas can be used also for consulting services to public and private agencies, to carry out surveys and studies through physics methodologies.
