The CSFNSM encourages the interest on science, especially in terms of prevention and protection of public health, in particular concerning environmental radioactivity in territories such as Etna. The CSFNSM has performed several environmental education campaigns, especially in schools, in order to induce a conscious behavior in the people at home, where adequate ventilation in closed places, particularly those located on the ground floor or basement, can significantly reduce the risk of contamination by Radon.
